WHILE Covid-19 cases are on the rise across the majority of Wiltshire, a lot of areas in and around Salisbury currently have less than three cases.

In the seven days up to June 13, 190 cases of the coronavirus were recorded in the Wiltshire Council area, a rise of 108 on the previous week.

The rate of new cases in this catchment area is now 38 per 100,000.

Based on Government data, in the Salisbury and New Forest patch Laverstock, Bodenham and Coombe Bissett was the most infected area in the same time frame, with 21 cases and a rolling rate of 231.5 recorded.

This was followed by Alderholt and Sixpenny Handley, Wilton, Nadder and Ebble and Tidworth and Ludgershall, each with eight cases recorded.

This data is available on a map on the Government coronavirus dashboard, which breaks down infections into Middle Super Output Areas (MSOAs) - small areas with an average population of around 7,200.

For each MSOA, the map shows the number of cases in the latest weekly period, any change compared to the week before and the rate of new cases.

With Covid-19 numbers climbing steadily over the last few weeks across the country, and in a bid to control the spread of the new Delta variant, the Government has now pushed back stage 4 of its roadmap.

The relaxation of all lockdown rules is now scheduled for July 19 as opposed to June 21.
