AN ALDERHOLT man has received a community order and a fine after an assault in Fordingbridge.

Paul David Stephen, of Cheaters Lane, previously admitted a charge of assault by beating and criminal damage to a bedroom door on March 22 in Fordingbridge.

The 46-year-old was sentenced on June 23 by West Hampshire Magistrates' Court.

As part of the community order the defendant must comply with a rehabilitation activity requirement.

A restraining order was also made.

The defendant was also fined £346 and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £95.

No separate penalty was given for the criminal damage offence.
