TWO members of staff at a petrol station were assaulted after trying to prevent a theft.

At around 2.15pm on Saturday, May 22, a man entered the Westacre Filling Station on Wilton Road asking for a pizza.

While it was cooking, he took a wrap from store and took it outside.

When confronted by the staff, he became aggressive, assaulted two of them and left without paying.

Police are appealing for witnesses and have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
