THE Trafalgar School at Downton has chosen to move all teaching to remote learning from Friday morning.

It comes as "well over" 150 of its students were identified through the test and trace process, as well as 12 members of staff working either from home or remotely.

Headteacher Jonathan Curtis posted on Facebook to say he had spoken to other colleagues within the Trust before reaching the decision.

Today (Thursday) will be the last day that students will be in school.

Teaching will take place up until the official end of term (Tuesday, July 20).

The statement added: "I appreciate that this is short notice. Should this present you with difficulties, particularly for students in our younger years – or those without reliable internet/IT access – we shall open a small hub in the school.

"If you wish your child to attend this hub, please email s.burley@trafalgar.wilts.sch.uk. We are advising our transport providers today that home to school transport will end tomorrow, Friday.

"Thank you for your continuing support as we work together to keep all of our students and staff protected as much as we can."
