BRANSGORE Community First Responders (CFRs) are hoping to raise their profile and recruit some new volunteers as well as raising vital funds to support the group.
Volunteers will be holding their annual licensed street collection outside the shops in Ringwood Road in Bransgore today (Saturday July 17), between 7.30am and 3pm.
This year the group will be able to accept donations by a contactless card device, which has been by the South Central Ambulance Charity.
The proceeds of the day will go to the charity who fund the work of Community First Responders.
Group co-ordinator Mike Jukes BEM said: “Throughout the pandemic emergency, and with extremely high demands on the NHS, CFR volunteers from Bransgore continued to support their community and the ambulance service by attending medical emergency calls and providing prompt basic life support care for the patient, until the arrival of an ambulance.
"We hope to meet many of our residents on the day and explain what we do, and how we do it and perhaps encourage one or two to join us.
“The proceeds of the day will go to South Central Ambulance Charity and be well used to fund CFR’s locally across the New Forest and beyond.”
