TIME for a trip down memory lane!

Nostalgia is making a comeback, although let’s face it, it never really went away.

For those of us of a certain age and those of us interested in our city's rich history, and especially given what we have all been through together in the past 18 months, there’s even more of a temptation to look back at a happier, less complicated era.

So in this week's Journal, July 22, we have put together a special nostalgia supplement - the first part of three - and we hope very much it helps put a smile on your face.

In this supplement we head back to the fifties, where you will see everything from Remembrance Day parades, local football teams and weddings, to royal visits, dog shows and parties.

Check out the gallery above for a sneak peek at just some of the images that make up our 12-page feature.

Please let us have your feedback or personal memories - we know that nostalgia is important to you.
