COULD one of these adorable dogs be the companion for you?

Rags, Ebony, Mike and Brodus are just some of the dogs looking for a home to call their own at Dogs Trust Salisbury.

Although, the charity's centre in Newton Tony is not open for public browsing, it is still rehoming and taking in dogs, with new processes in place to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe.

1. Rags

Rags is a friendly 12-year-old Irish Setter. Despite her age, she loves her walks and her ideal home would be a place where she can potter around in the garden, followed by a mid-afternoon walk before coming home to snooze.

Salisbury Journal:

She adores being brushed and loves attention from her humans.

She prefers to avoid other dogs so is looking for a pet-free home and walks without too many dogs around. She would need a home without children.

2. Ebony

Three-year-old Greyhound Ebony certainly does not let the fact she has three legs hold her back.

She is a cheeky girl who loves her home comforts and her new owners will need to be happy with her lazing around on the sofa or snoozing in an armchair.

Salisbury Journal:

Ebony needs an adult-only home and to be the only pet but can have doggy friends out and about.

She will need owners who are home for the majority of the day as she does like to have her humans close by.

3. Mike

Nine-year-old Labrador cross Mike is a true gentle giant.

He is an extremely affectionate dog who wants nothing more than a loving home where he can share his huge heart with his new forever family.

He is looking for a quiet, adult-only home with few unannounced visitors. For this reason, Mike will need his own space where he can feel comfortable.

Salisbury Journal:

Because Mike has shown to be a little worried by males in the past, especially strangers, the charity would ideally like to find him a female-only home.

He would need to be the only dog in the home, but he is happy to have walking buddies.

Mike loves his toys and loves playing outside, so a good-size, secure garden will be required for him to explore and play safely off lead.

Mike thrives in the company of his humans so will need a home where someone can be around during the day as he settles into his new home.

4. Brodus

Brodus is a six-year-old Rottweiler. He loves practising his training and is always eager to learn new tricks.

He can be a little nervous meeting new people but does come around after a few meetings and can be quite affectionate once he knows you.

Salisbury Journal:

Brodus will need access to his own private secure garden.

Due to his sensitive nature he will need an adult-only home with few visitors and no visiting children.

'Desire to find a loving family'

Claire Rowe, the rehoming centre manager at Dogs Trust Salisbury, said: “Four adorable dogs looking for their forever homes this month are Rags, Ebony, Mike and Brodus. They’re all very different but the one thing they have in common is the desire to find a loving family and a sofa to call their own.

“If you think you could give any of these dogs the forever homes they are looking for, please go to dogstrust.org.uk/rehoming to start the virtual adoption process.”
