A Team GB Olympic silver medallist made a surprise visit to a Salisbury school's sports day.

Swimmer Jazz Carlin, who won two silver medals at Rio 2016, joined students of St Peter’s CE Primary Academy.

The visit was arranged by regional housebuilder Persimmon Homes, an Official Partner of Team GB as it prepares for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The Olympian said: “Seeing the children taking part in sport was lovely and they had me taking part in the obstacle course, the egg and spoon race and running with a hoop on my head!

“The partnership between Persimmon Homes and Team GB allows us to help inspire the next generation and it is a pleasure to be able to share my passion for sport with the pupils.”

Graeme Cole, sales director for Persimmon Homes South Coast, added: “Persimmon Homes is keen to put something back into the communities in which we are building.

"It was a pleasure to be able to visit St Peter’s Primary along with Jazz as part of our partnership with Team GB.

“The children were interested in her path to becoming a Team GB athlete and competing at an Olympic Games.

"Who knows, she may have inspired some athletes of the future.”

The housebuilder has created a fitness and activity 'Stay Active' pack for families, downloadable from the Persimmon Homes website.
