A DRIVER was caught speeding at 43mp in 30mph residential area.
Neighbourhood PC Mark Douglas was carrying out speed checks in Wilton yesterday morning (Wednesday August 18) as a way to encourage people to drive safely.
The driver flouting the speed limit was given a ticket by officers.
A police spokesperson on the Salisbury Police Facebook page said: "One driver was given a speeding ticket after being caught driving at 43mph in a residential area with a 30mph limit. Some of the local residents approached us and said that they’d noticed the traffic was going much slower than usual.
"Please take care when on the roads, particularly within 30mph speed limits as these are normally put in place to protect pedestrians."
