Salisbury Hospital A&E has warned that the service is "very busy" and patients should only attend in a serious or "life-threatening" condition.
The hospital has released a series of tweets asking patients who are unwell to first contact their GP or pharmacist, call 111 or visit https://111.nhs.uk.
This is so the A&E department can treat the most serious and life-threatening cases.
They are experiencing high volumes of walk-ins and are "very busy".
Yesterday (September 1), a spokesperson from the hospital said: "Our A&E is currently very busy.
"Please only attend if you have a life-threatening illness or serious injury.
"If you need medical attention please contact NHS 111 (http://111.nhs.uk) and they will direct you to the most appropriate service."
