ENJOY the fun of the fair with dodgems, waltzer, ghost train and more in Salisbury.

Salisbury City Council says it is "delighted" to announce that the Charter Fair will be returning next month to "provide fun for all the family".

It is going to be running from Sunday October 17 to Wednesday October 20 in Market Place.

In a statement the city council said: "Salisbury City Council is delighted to announce that the Charter Fair will be returning on Sunday 17th October until Wednesday 20th October.

"The fair will light up the Market Place with all the usual favourites including dodgems, hook a duck, waltzer, the ghost train and much more, providing fun for all the family.

"Nearly all rides will cost just £2 a go until 6pm with juvenile rides costing £2 at all times."

The fair, an annual tradition for the city, has been held on the third Monday of October since 1227. But last year was cancelled due to Covid.

The city council has also said it does not intend to run a carnival event this year.
