PLANS have been submitted to turn a former dog grooming business into an estate agents - with Airbnb accommodation above.

The property, at 1 Andover Road, Ludgershall, has been used for a number of business uses over the years, most recently as a dog groomers and prior to that as an estate agents.

The accommodation above was "welfare and kitchen use".

The applicant, Mr Antonio Chang Chao, of Tidworth, states in the application form: "We would like to operate an Estate Agents from the premises, with a small Airbnb type accommodation above.

"We are currently trading as an estate agents at 8A High Street Ludgershall [Castles Estate Agents], our lease ends in January 2022."

If approved, there would be one full-time employee and one part-time employee, and a further two more full-time and two more part-time are proposed.

It would be open from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm on a Saturday, and 10am to 2pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

The planning statement adds: "This site is in the middle of the town of Ludgershall, and as such is a prime location for businesses.

"The building itself is not of specific merit or note, but it’s occupancy does contribute to the overall context, and it has now been empty for some time."

It also says that the changes proposed will have "very limited impact" on the appearance or experience of the Conservation Area because there are no external material changes to the building being proposed.

The Change of Use is also of limited impact because the building has been used as an estate agents in recent times, and is to be occupied by a local business simply relocating.
