ANOTHER patient has died at Salisbury District Hospital after testing posting for Covid-19 - bringing the total number of deaths to 220.

The patient in her 50s, who had underlying health conditions, died on Saturday (September 18).

The hospital says there are currently nine Covid-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.

A statement issued by the hospital said: "Sadly, we can confirm that a patient who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital and had tested positive for Covid-19 died on Saturday 18th September. The patient was in her 50s and had underlying health conditions.

"220 patients in total have now passed away.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the patient’s family and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time.

"There are currently nine Covid-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.

"We would urge everyone to continue to take precautions to minimise the spread of the virus"
