BBC producers are on the hunt for people in Blackburn with decent singing voices to take part in a documentary which will air around Christmas time.
The documentary will follow choirmaster, Gareth Malone OBE, as he travels to areas such as Blackburn to stage a festive concert.
The aim of the concert is to bring communities together to thank local hospitals and NHS staff for their help in the pandemic.
The documentary, which is being produced by Swan Films, will culminate in a musical concert finale which will be staged at the Royal Blackburn Hospital.
The show will follow a similar BBC Two programme which aired 2019, where Gareth Malone enlisted staff, patients and families at Watford General Hospital for a Christmas concert.
Before filming can commence, producers need local people to take part and apply to be on the show – particularly key workers and those who have been touched by the work carried out at the hospital.
A spokesperson said: “We are looking for people from across the community interested in being involved who have pulled together during these trying times.
“Such as (but not limited to!) volunteers, charity workers, key workers (of all kinds), or those who have been personally supported by the hospital or community in some way and want to share their story with us.
“In particular, we’re hoping to speak to people with some singing or musical experience, or those who feel they would like to come together to celebrate the community and the work of the staff at the Royal Blackburn Hospital.”
