A FOUR-YEAR-OLD girl from Bulford has been recognised for her fundraising efforts with a special award.

Abigail Chapman, whose parents both serve in the British Army, has been named “Little Trooper of the Month” and will receive a special medal, certificate and prize for walking more than ten miles in five hours.

Abigail was inspired to fundraise after watching her mum Hannah complete a 50K challenge.

She chose to support Little Troopers as the family have used some of the charity’s online resources in the past and she wanted to help support other military children who have parents serving in the British Armed Forces.

Abigail’s mum, Hannah said: “We are so proud of Abigail. She showed real determination throughout the challenge and kept reminding herself why she was doing it the whole way round.

"She wore my Garmin watch to track her distance and once she completed the 10 miles was carried the rest of the way home.

"She is over the moon to have been named Little Trooper of the Month and she can’t wait to show her medal to all her friends at nursery.”

Louise Fetigan, the founder of Little Troopers, added: “We love hearing from military children who have chosen Little Troopers as their fundraising charity and reading Abigail’s nomination really made our hearts warm.

"Walking ten miles is an incredible challenge for a four-year-old and £222 will make a big difference to our small charity.

"Well done Abigail. We think you are an amazing little trooper and you really deserve this award.”
