ANOTHER patient has died at Salisbury District Hospital having tested positive for Covid-19.

It is the second such death at the hospital in the last week.

The patient was in her 80s and had underlying health conditions.

A spokesperson from the hospital said: "Sadly, we can confirm that a patient who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital and had tested positive for COVID-19 died on Monday 27th September. The patient was in her 80s and had underlying health conditions."

223 patients in total have now died at the hospital having tested positive for Covid.

The spokesperson added: "Our thoughts and condolences are with the patient’s family and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time.

"There are currently four COVID-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.

"We would urge everyone to continue to take precautions to minimise the spread of the virus".
