A NUMBER of high-value watches have been stolen from a property in Wilton.

The break-in happened in Burcombe Lane some time on Friday afternoon (October 10).

The offender or offenders gained access by forcing entry to the back door, then carried out a search of one of the bedrooms, stealing a number of items, including five expensive watches.

As part of police enquiries, a 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, as well as unrelated drugs and driving offences.

He has been interviewed and released on conditional bail while the investigation continues.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "We would ask anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area on that afternoon, or who has seen watches for sale in suspicious circumstances, to call Salisbury CID.

"Anyone with information should call DC Eleanor Darcy on 101, quoting crime reference 54210098372. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
