The Salisbury Charter Fair returned yesterday with a bang after being cancelled last year due to the pandemic.

Here are photos and a video that readers have shared with us of them enjoying themselves at the fair.

Photos from Salisbury's Charter Fair 2021

Lewis Jefferies sent in this great photo from the swing carousel to our Camera Club, which manages to capture an incredible view of the city.

Four brilliant photos were sent in by Victoria Scott with the caption "scream if you want to go faster".

The angle of the photos and pastel hues gives the scene a sense of nostalgia, that giddy excitement of going to the fair doesn't vanish as we get older.

Mayor Caroline Corbin had the honour of opening the Charter fair on Sunday, and said it was "great for the atmosphere".

She said: "I don't do fast rides but I love the dodgems and went on twice."

Last week Caroline Corbin told us how important it was that that the fair was back this year after a year off due to the pandemic and said: “It is an important part of Salisbury so to have it back is nice, we just need the other events like the carnival to start returning."

We also dug through our archives and found some pictures of Charter Fair from 1956-1975.

Here is a video by local video creator Carlton Brunton which captures the essence of the Charter Fair.

Below is a submission box where you can send us your photos!
