Did you know that a previous landlady of the Rai d'Or restaurant also owned a nearby brothel?
You can now pick up a map to explore the places where the 'forgotten' women of Salisbury's past lived and worked.
Her Salisbury Story, a project organised by Soroptimist International of Salisbury, celebrates the women in Salisbury we don't often hear about.
The project researches and writes the stories of women who have been overlooked in history to inspire this generation's women and girls to achieve their potential.

The project has now released 'Her Salisbury Footprint', a heritage trail map and self-guided walking tour.
In the trail, you can take in the sights of Salisbury relating to the women who have helped shaped the city, and learn their stories.
The map leads you to take in "iconic viewpoints" and introduces you to the women who helped shape the city's cultural, political and commercial life.
Her Salisbury Footprint is available from Salisbury Tourist information Centre, Fish Row, priced at £1.
