A Bulford sergeant major in the Army and dad-of-five built a fang-tastic Halloween maze from scratch and it was a screaming success.

Wayne Moss, 44, created an impressive ‘Scare Maze’ for Halloween with his partner Sonia Markham and their five kids.

It recieved more attention than they expected with visitors who queued for three hours to get in saying “It was well worth the wait”.

Wayne, who created his first scare maze last year and hopes to go even bigger next year, said: “We had tonnes of screams even a little crying but in a good way.

“The comments we got were amazing.”

The maze took them weeks to make using YouTube tutorials.

This year Wayne’s family chose to donate all the proceeds to Julia’s House Children’s Hospice, settling on this charity for their work for children with life-shortening illnesses.

Sonia, 37, said she found the charity after reading the Salisbury Journal, Wayne adding: “We’ve got the kids, and we just thought that’s the one.”

Wayne met his partner Sonia seven years ago.

He’s got three kids whilst she’s got two, and they have enjoyed creating the maze as a family.

Sonia said she is “Super proud” of Wayne and added: “Halloween is one of his favourites times of the year and to see his face on the night at how many people turned up was amazing… the hard work has paid off.”

They wanted to thank everyone involved for their “amazing hard work” and everybody who donated, especially Woody’s Coffee shop who served hot drinks and cakes on the night and single-handedly raised £50 for Julia's Hospice.

Keeley Bishop and her 5-year-old son James loved the maze so much this year they ‘jumped at the chance’ of becoming part of it this year.

Dressed as a pirate, James was one of the live actors in the maze experience, and Keeley said: “We had so much fun on both nights and we will most definitely want to do it again next year.”

Claire Ellison who attended the event said on the Scare Maze Facebook Group “I don't think I've ever screamed so much!” and Stella Crawshaw who also attended commented “Thank you so much for tonight the kids enjoyed it and although a long wait was worth it!”.
