A woman has been taken to hospital after a car crashed into a telegraph pole in Salisbury this morning.

A reader reported seeing a Fiat 500 with police tape around it between 10.30am and 11am on Stratford Road, near the traffic lights off Castle Road. 

He spotted it as he turned off Castle Road and headed towards Stratford Sub Castle, by the traffic lights near Victoria Park. 

Police confirmed they were called to the incident.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “At around 8.15am this morning (08/11) we received a call about a single-vehicle road traffic collision in Stratford Road, Salisbury.

“A vehicle had collided with a telegraph pole, but nobody was seriously injured.”

South West Ambulance Service confirmed that an ambulance was allocated to the incident and a woman was taken to Salisbury District Hospital.
