THIS month the Journal’s camera clubbers have been challenged to capture a change in the seasons.

The transformation from autumn to winter is a beautiful thing, with dramatic visual changes in weather, Christmas decorations gradually lining every street and shop window, and illuminations and fires lighting up the darker evenings.

Judged by the editorial team, our top images demonstrating the shift to winter will be featured in a special spread near the end of the month, in print and online.

Meanwhile, the gallery above showcases just a few of our favourite pictures from the last few days.

The winner of October’s camera club competition was Jacky Chambers, for their spooky Halloween-inspired shot.
