Britain honours the lives that were lost in service of the country today for Remembrance Sunday.

A two minute silence will be held at 11am, to pay respect to many of our ancestors who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

Readers have shared stories of their family members who fought for Britain, many of whom fell during the First World War but their stories have stayed alive through generations.

Do you have any memories you’d like to share with us? At the very bottom of the article is a submissions box where you can add your stories.
