Part of a Laverstock road is closed today to deal with storm damage to a tree.

Roadworks are being carried out on part of The Avenue - the stretch from its junction with Duck Lane to its junction with Laverstock Park.

Wiltshire Council are carrying out "urgent highway safety work" on a storm-damaged tree and associated works.

There is a diversion in place, via Duck Lane, Riverside Road and the unaffected length of The Avenue.

In the urgent closure notice, the council say the works will start today (Thursday, November 18), and are anticipated to last between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

The closure and diversion route are indicated by traffic signs. Residents and businesses may still access where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
