A woman has been fined for destroying a Covid screen in a Salisbury bakery.

The 60-year-old was fined £50, along with costs of £20 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

She pleaded guilty at Salisbury Magistrates' Court earlier this year to criminal damage to property valued under £5,000.

The offence took place on October 28, 2020, at The Cornish Bakery on Silver Street.

Two weeks before the incident, the tier system of Covid restrictions was introduced in the UK, with Salisbury placed in tier 1.

The rule of six was in place, bars and pubs were still open but with table service only and closing by 11pm, and retail, entertainment, and personal care facilities were still open.
