A man from Wiltshire has been found guilty of committing a racially and religiously aggravated road rage offence.

William Edward Angus Bruce, 61, of Watson Close, Upavon, near Salisbury was found to have committed a racially aggravated road rage incident on June 24 last year involving the use of an object in Marlborough. 

He was found to have used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour against the victim.

The court deemed the offence both racially and religiously aggravated within the terms of section 28 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998

He pleaded not guilty on March 5 2021 but was convicted at Salisbury Magistrates Court on October 13.

He was given a prison sentence of 8 weeks suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £528 by December 20 this year.

This fine includes compensation of £200.
