TESCO in Amesbury has had an "amazing" response so far to its annual Giving Tree Appeal.

This year the appeal will support Salisbury District Hospital, Salisbury Foodbank and Spurgeons Children’s Charity.

Customers can take part by choosing an age bauble from the Christmas tree in store, purchasing a gift, then dropping it off at the customer service desk in store.

Gifts will be collected, wrapped and distributed to the patients at Salisbury hospital, families who are using the Salisbury Foodbank and to the families who are supported by Spurgeons Children’s Charity.

Adele Ward, the community champion at Tesco Amesbury said a "very big thank you to everyone who has supported the Giving Tree Appeal so far and for helping make someone's Christmas special. Our customers are truly amazing".

Last year, the Giving Tree Appeal supported patients spending Christmas in Salisbury hospital.
