As the Government triggers Covid 'Plan B' this week, these are four people in and around Salisbury who have been fined more than £2,000 for breaking lockdown rules this year.

These fines were issued in magistrates' courts in the last few months.

One Salisbury man was fined for gathering in a car in Andover.

An Alderholt man was fined for visiting a dairy farm near Winchester without reasonable excuse, and two others fined for meeting in a house and in a garden.

Kieran Lucas, 19, of Rhodesmoor House, Salisbury, was fined a total of £2,021 for participating in an indoor gathering in a car.

On February 22, he took part in a gathering of two or more people in a Ford Fiesta Index.

This was in River Way, Andover, a Tier 4 area.

He was fined £1,760, and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £176, along with costs of £85, totalling £2,021.

He was fined on September 21 at Aldershot Magistrates' Court.

Nicholas Ruta, 21, of Genoa Court, Andover, was fined a total of £2,021 for participating in a gathering in an outdoor place that was not a public outdoor place - namely, his garden.

The gathering, on February 6, consisted of two or more people in a tier 4 area.

He was fined £1,760, with a surcharge to fund victim services of £176, and costs of £85 at Aldershot Magistrates' Court.

Michael Kevin Light, 29, who was at the time living on Station Road, Alderholt, Fordingbridge, was fined a total of £2,021 on September 21.

This was for being outside his home without reasonable excuse, while living in a tier 4 area: on March 17, he was at Hiltonbury Jerseys Raw Milk farm in Compton, Winchester.

He was fined £1,760, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £176, along with costs of £85.

Rebecca Armstrong, 40, of Monk Court, Andover, was fined a total of £2,026 for participating in gathering of two or more people indoors in a tier 4 area.

On February 12, without reasonable excuse and other than as permitted by the Regulations, she participated in a gathering in the Tier 4 area in a private dwelling, in Corinthian Close, Andover, which consisted of two or more people.

She was fined £1,760, and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £176, along with costs of £90, totalling £2,026.

She was fined on September 13 at Aldershot Magistrates' Court.

These four offences were contrary to Schedule 3A to the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (All Tiers) (England) Regulations 2020.
