The offence occurred on November 6 on the A338 Salisbury Road at Ringwood.
The proportion of alcohol in the 36-year-old's breath was 41 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, which exceeded the prescribed limit.
He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months when he was sentenced by Southampton Magistrates' Court on November 25.
He was also fined £120 and order to pay a surcharge of £34 to fund victim services as well as £85 court costs.
