FORDINGBRIDGE Rugby Club showed its support for the community by donating food to support those in need.

More than 145kg of food was handed over to Ringwood Foodbank, which also serves the areas of Fordingbridge and Verwood.

Players in the club’s mini's and juniors sections were encouraged to bring food essentials to support those less fortunate.

The chair of the club’s mini’s, Edward Murphy, said: “We are a community club and it’s really important for our players to feel that too.

“For young children, Christmas can often get caught up with “want” so it was great to see them so enthused to support those in need.

“Many of them have been doing a reverse advent calendar where each day they find an item to donate from their kitchen cupboards.”

The food donated by the club is enough to feed 14 families, three meals a day, for three days.

The club runs training for U5s to U12s every Sunday at 9.30am on the recreational ground. For those looking to get involved email frfcminis@outlook.com
