It's been a whirlwind of emotions for Swindon Town fans this week as the club prepares for one of its biggest ever games against Man City in the FA Cup.

The news yesterday that Man City manager Pep Guardiola and seven first-team players had been struck down with Covid would have brought mixed feelings to Town supporters.

First a concern some glamour would be removed from the match at the County Ground but then renewed hope the League two club could come away with a result against a potentially weakened, but still foreboding, Manchester line up.

Rumours have circulated on who has made the trip to Swindon today from a roster worth hundreds of millions of pounds, and easily one of the top ten squads in the world.

But a chance interview with a Swindon Town fan may give some insight into the upcoming lineup.

Sky Sports spoke to a lifelong fan, called Sam who described who he saw of the team, and who he didn't see, at the Manchester team's hotel earlier today.

He said he spotted Kevin De Bruyne, Nathan Ake and Joao Cancelo but did not spot Ilkay Gundogan, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden and Ederson.

"It was a mix half and half of first team players and youngsters and reserves I think," he said.

"It's not to say some of them were not there as they had their hoods on and facemasks."

Asked for his prediction, Sam was hopeful of a big upset tonight.

"It's 11 against 11 and miracles can happen," he said.

"I fancy our chances. I am going for a 2-1 win for Swindon."
