ILLEGAL driving, drink and drug driving and hare coursing were just some of the offences dealt with on Salisbury Plain last year.

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has confirmed that between April 1 and December 31, 2021, its team at HQ Salisbury Plain Training Area seized 29 vehicles and issued 206 fines for driving offences.

These included illegal off-road driving, no MOT and no insurance.

There was successful prosecution of drink and drug drivers and those who committed rural crime offences, including fly-tippers and poachers.

The team also carried out joint operations with Wiltshire Rural Crime Team, targeting crimes such as hare coursing.

To report suspicious or illegal activity on Salisbury Plain, contact MOD on 0300 1232 101. In an emergency always call 999.
