A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of burglary in Ringwood.

The arrest comes after police received a report of a burglary at a business premises on Southampton Road between 9pm and 9.45pm yesterday (Sunday January 9).

Police say entry had been gained to the premises via a smashed window and a quantity of cash was stolen.

CCTV operators located a person acting suspiciously in the area and when police attended the person was detained.

When searched, officers seized a quantity of cash and a number of tools including a screwdriver and a utility knife.

A 15-year-old boy from Fordingbridge was arrested on suspicion of burglary and assaulting an emergency worker.

He remains in custody at this time.
