A TEENAGE girl was "left shaken" after a man grabbed her by the arm.

Branding the act as a suspicious incident, police are now appealing for witnesses and further information to assist their investigation.

At around 2pm yesterday, January 18, the girl was walking through the underpass between St Martin’s Church Street and Payne’s Hill.

She heard someone run up behind her and then felt the hand on her arm.

After the contact the girl managed to run away.

She did not get a description of the man.

PC Sarah Moth from the local policing team said: “The girl managed to run off, so was not injured in any way but was left shaken by what happened.

“We want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed anything suspicious.”

If you have any further information, you can call police on 101 quoting crime reference 54220006062.
