Covid cases have increased rapidly in these 12 Wiltshire areas, with Downtown and Morgan's Vale experiencing a 209.5% increase.

There were 4,670 Covid cases recorded in Wiltshire for the week up to January 22 which is an increase of 23% on the previous seven-day-period, according to the UK Coronavirus Dashboard.

The Wiltshire case rate for the seven days leading up to January 22 was at 926.5 per 100,000 people, which is slightly lower than the UK average of 949.2 cases per 100,000 people for this period.

In many Wiltshire areas, the case rate is higher than the UK average, and some areas have seen huge increases in cases

These areas include Durrington and Bulford (case rate 1526.5), Salisbury Bemerton (1497.9), and Trowbridge West (1496.8).

By looking at how much cases are increasing in individual areas, insight can be gained on whether infections are increasing locally.
