An internationally renowned choreographer, who claims to have once been charged with "teaching Boris Johnson to dance", will bring her show to Salisbury Arts Centre this March.
Following almost two years of Covid induced postponements, Jennifer Irons will be touring the UK with her one-woman show that details her upbringing, life and ultimate escape from Canada’s frozen north.
Titled Yukon Ho!, after Yukon Terrritory in Canada where North America's coldest temperature ever was recorded (-63 Celsius), the show is described as a funny, bizarre, (mostly) true cabaret-style guide to surviving there.
Jennifer said: "If it wasn’t for dance, I’d have probably ended up pregnant, an addict or dead.
"However tough it is growing up – whether it’s in the arctic or the city – the arts will always be a salvation.
"It’s a shame more governments don’t realise this."
On the subject of government, Jennifer says she had a brush with Boris Johnson in his days as a London Mayor when she was tasked with teaching him how to dance.
The show will be performed at Salisbury Arts Centre on March 10 at 8pm and more information can be found on Wiltshire Creative's website.
