Salisbury City Hall vaccine site has embraced a new, fun theme.

From today (February 9) vaccinations are being offered to five to 11-year-olds who are clinically extremely vulnerable or immunosuppressed.

To make the large-scale vaccine hub on Malthouse Lane a bit more welcoming and child-friendly, Super Hero display boards and photo boards have been put up to encourage parents and their children to come forward.

When children and their parents or guardians arrive for their jab, they will be greeted by superhero way finders and display boards.

They will receive stickers and will be invited to have a go on the photo/graffiti board.

Fiona Hyett, Director of Operations at City Hall, said: “We realise that some parents may be hesitant or have concerns about bringing their children for the COVID-19 vaccination.

“However, we want to assure them that the vaccine is safe and our team is very skilled in administering the jabs to children and those who may get nervous about the vaccination. We encourage all parents and guardians to get their eligible children vaccinated to help keep their family, friends and the community safe.”

Plans are in place to have Pets as Therapy (PAT) dogs at these sessions.
