Salisbury District Hospital is asking patients and visitors to adhere to Covid measures in its hospital settings, despite the Government lifting all rules.

The hospital says they are reviewing the NHS-specific guidance they have recently received.

Until this changes, the hospital is asking patients and visitors to "adhere to existing measures and comply with requests from staff".

From yesterday (Thursday February 24), those who test positive for Covid are no longer legally required to self-isolate, but rather they are advised to stay at home for at least five days.

Close contacts are no longer legally required to test daily for seven days, and the £500 self-isolation support payment for peopole on low incomes who test positive has been scrapped.

These measures are in force after the Government unveiled its ‘Living with Covid’ plan.

The county's health chief is warning that the dropping of legal restrictions "doesn’t mark the end of the pandemic" and that we must not forget those vulnerable to the virus.
