TWO teenagers and a man in his 40s were arrested after a police pursuit over the Hampshire and Dorset borders.

The arrests came after a car was reported stolen from Pitt Vale service station on Romsey Road in Winchester just after midnight on Tuesday, March 8.

Dorset Police then received a report just after 1am of a burglary at the Hendy Garage on the A31 Ringwood Road, at St Leonards, where it was believed the suspected stolen vehicle from Hampshire was used.

Officers from Dorset Police located the suspected stolen vehicle, which failed to stop.

The pursuit went through Ferndown, Parley, Christchurch and Burton before the vehicle was eventually stopped in Brockenhurst by officers from Hampshire Constabulary’s Roads Policing Unit.

Two 17-year-old boys from Southampton and Winchester were arrested on suspicion of burglary, fail to stop, dangerous driving and conspiring to commit a burglary. They have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

A 41-year-old man from Totton was also arrested on suspicion of theft of a vehicle, burglary, possession of a Class B drug, fail to stop and conspiring to commit a burglary. He has been released on bail with conditions, while enquiries continue.

The suspected stolen vehicle from the service station in Winchester was recovered.

Officers from Dorset and Hampshire police forces are working together to investigate the incident.
