A Salisbury NHS worker and professional actor will appear in upcoming nights of comedy theatre at The Chapel nightclub.
Dan Avery, actor and Assistant Practitioner at Salisbury’s Emergency Department, will be performing as part of the Salisbury Fringe Theatre Comedy Highlights nights next Friday and Saturday (March 18 and 19).
This is the first event as part of a new venture for Salisbury Fringe, which is taking its first steps in evolving into a professional theatre company.
The changes will will mean actors will be able to be seen off-book for a fully professional performance, and tickets will be a set price on entry as opposed to a voluntary donation.
Dan, who has been a member of the Fringe for many years, will also appear as Mr Rochester in Another Way Theatre’s production of Jane Eyre, to be performed in June at the Minack Theatre in Cornwall, where he previously played Hamlet in 2018.
He said: “It’s been an immensely tough couple of years for everyone, especially in both my careers of nursing and acting. Nursing has been at the forefront of life during the pandemic so the opportunity to focus on my creative career is very welcome.
“When it comes to my performances with Salisbury Fringe, I’m very much looking forward to working alongside the talented Fringe team and - hopefully - entertaining the local people of Salisbury!"
Standard tickets are £10, with a £1 booking fee, available at: chapellive.co.uk
