Police have confirmed that the alleged attempted murder in Fisherton Street is not being treated as a terror related incident.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an incident in which a car is thought to have been deliberately driven at pedestrians.

The car hit a man and a woman, mounting the pavement before leaving the scene.

The male suspect was arrested last night after a search and is currently in police custody.

The man and woman are currently in hospital being treated with non-life threatening injuries.

The incident took place at about 9.45pm yesterday (Sunday 27 March).

Police would like to hear from anyone with dashcam footage of a Blue Skoda driving around the city centre late last night, or anyone who witnessed the incident.

A police cordon was in place this morning outside Computer Centre and Chris Wadge Clocks on Fisherton Street.

Investigations remain ongoing.
