A NURSERY celebrating its 10th birthday is ready for the next 10 years of looking after and supporting children.

Old Sarum Nursery, operating from dedicated rooms in Old Sarum Primary School and the adjacent community centre, marked the special occasion last month with cake, balloons and a bouncy castle.

The demand for nursery spaces was noted soon after the establishment’s launch in the school premises, as within a term there was enough children to facilitate two sessions a day.

This led to the nursery introducing the second space at the community centre just three years later.

“Looking forward to another ten successful years”, manager Angela Riley said: “Both nurseries have continued to evolve and excel and be supported by our dedicated experienced practitioners, both past and present, who are passionate about children and realise the importance of the foundation years.”

Ian McLennan, Laverstock ward councillor, added: “Ten years ago, Natalie [Moss - nursery chairwoman], Angela and I opened Old Sarum Nursery. It has been full ever since.

“We look to expand yet again after Easter and new children are welcome.

"The nursery is a charity, run for Old Sarum and Longhedge community, with every penny, apart from staff costs, used for the benefit of the children. Here’s to the next many years.”
