A Salisbury 18-year-old has admitted taking a car, driving it without third party insurance or an appropriate license, and damaging a Toyota Yaris.

Kian David Humphries, 18, of Gigant Street, pleaded guilty to the offences in Salisbury Magistrates Court on April 8 this year.

On September 25 last year, in Bishopstone in Wiltshire, Humphries took a Suzuki Swift without the owner's permission.

After it had been taken, an accident occurred causing damage of less than £5000 to a Toyota Yaris.

He proceeded to drive the Suzuki down Church Bottom in Middle Woodford without appropriate insurance or relevant licence.

For aggravated vehicle taking and damage to property under £5000, a community order was issued, with an unpaid work requirement of 100 hours.

He has been disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for a period of 12 months.

Humphries was also fined a total of £180 for the offences.
