A TEN-DAY festival will be returning to Salisbury this year, celebrating everything food and drink.

Taste Salisbury will be running an extensive programme of events, special promotions and discounts from August 26.

And this year there will be the launch of the Taste Salisbury Awards, where businesses can showcase their food and drink quality in various categories.

Restaurants, bars, cafes and shops can enter for a chance to have their products crowned Supreme Bar Snack, Best Brownie, Legendary Latte Art, Coolest Cocktail, or Brilliant Burger.

The festival will come to a close with Foodie Sunday on September 4.

Confirming the festival's return, Salisbury mayor Caroline Corbin said: "We want to build on the success of 2021 with more business involvement, more events and more celebration.

"Our Foodie Sunday will once again round off the ten-day programme with stalls, entertainment and activities for the whole family in the Market Place.  We can’t wait to bring more flavour and fun to the city centre!”

Salisbury Cathedral, Arundells, Salisbury Museum, Salisbury Arts Centre and The Rifleman’s Table were just some of the businesses that took part last year.

Artisan Wine and Spirit Co. also took part, and is urging other businesses to get involved.

Artisan Wine Co-owner and Salisbury BID Director Elizabeth Coombes said: “This year Taste Salisbury is set to be bigger and better than 2021 with a huge array of events planned.

"It’s such a great way of bringing the city together, getting businesses to work together and showing off all the amazing things Salisbury has to offer. Who doesn’t love food and drink?”

Dan Collins, Salisbury BID business manager added: “Our food and drink venues, producers and sellers are an important part of city life and we think that’s something to celebrate.

"We hope even more businesses will get involved this year, with events and special promotions just some of the ways they can take part in the festivities.

"We are also looking forward to introducing the Taste Salisbury Awards, which will recognise Salisbury's hardworking food and drink companies and their employees in a new fun way. Watch this space for more information!”
