Part of Devizes Road has closed for more than a week for resurfacing work.

Wiltshire Council has closed a stretch of the A360 Devizes Road, from its junction with Ramleaze Drive to its junction with St Paul's Roundabout.

This is for the council to carry out carriageway resurfacing, patching works, road marking, adjustment of ironworks and other associated works.

The works, starting today (Monday, May 9), are expected to be completed by next Thursday (May 19).

They will be taking place on weekdays between the hours of 7am and 6pm.

The suggested alternative route is via the A36 and The Avenue.

Salisbury Journal:

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSE) is also doing emergency work to restore power to the area on the diversion route.

According to the council, they have installed lights at the A36 Wilton Road junction with Roman Road, which should finish early tomorrow morning (Tuesday, May 10).

Salisbury Reds buses will be affected, with a diversion in place.

The R1 bus service will divert along Wilton Road, turning right at Skew Bridge, and into Roman Road to rejoin normal route (with the same route used in reverse).

The bus stops at Gas Lane, Hastings Court, Highbury Avenue and India Avenue will be closed from 7am to 6pm every day.

From 6pm onwards, the R1 service will revert back to its normal route.

The 66 and 663 routes will also be slightly affected - from Coronation Road, the services will turn right into Roman Road and continue to Wilton Road, re-joining the normal route at St Paul’s Roundabout.
