SALISBURY Cathedral has been filled with blooms of all colours for the festival of flowers and we have compiled some of our favourite photos after visiting today.

The flower festival celebrates the forthcoming Queen’s Platinum Jubilee while reflecting 800 years of Cathedral history and has taken months of work to produce such an imaginative array of designs.

The themes were created by three national and internationally renowned designers including Michael Bowyer who is the creative director of flowers for the Cathedral, alongside Angela Turner and Pam Lewis.

There are 127 exhibits to admire in total and light, colour, shape, and reflection has been cleverly used throughout.

Visitors can enjoy imaginative displays including a replica of the Queen’s coronation gown made from dyed grasses and gilded ferns to a floral take on punk rock and the Beatles. There are also columns of romantic floral displays.

The event is on all week and tickets can be booked online here.
