THE latest cases from Salisbury Magistrates' Court:

CONSTANTIN CAPRARU, aged 35, of no fixed abode, Downton / Salisbury, pleaded guilty to failing to stop when requested to do so by a constable. The offence took place on March 23, 2022, when Capraru was driving a lorry, registered in Romania, along Picket Twenty Way in Andover. He was fined £156 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34.

CALLUM JORDAN, aged 19, based at Aliwal Barracks, Tidworth, pleaded guilty to driving while exceeding the legal alcohol limit. On March 27, 2022, Jordan was recorded driving a Ford Fiesta along Mill Stream Approach in Salisbury with 49 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. He was fined £350 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £35 and costs of £85. He was banned from driving for 14 months.

NATHAN DANIEL MCSWEENEY, aged 32, of Sussex Road, Harnham, pleaded guilty to intentionally damaging a window to the value of around £200 on May 29, 2021. On the same day he assaulted two people by beating. The defendant was ordered to pay compensation of £350 and must take up treatment for alcohol dependency. He was ordered to participate in activities and appointments as instructed by an officer.

KERRI ANNE APPLEBY, aged 40, of Meadow Road, Bulford, pleaded guilty to committing arson, damaging a door frame and mat by fire in Amesbury on December 8, 2021. On the same day she intentionally damaged a bottle of aftershave belonging to the victim. Appleby was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £95 and must carry out 150 hours of unpaid work. She must have treatment for alcohol dependency and participate in activities and appointments as instructed by an officer.

GEORGE BAILEY, aged 25, of Newbury Drive, Amesbury, indicated a plea of guilty to possessing a quantity of cocaine on April 1, 2021. He was fined £800 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80 and costs of £85.

PAULA RETTER, aged 48, of Twyford Gardens, Durrington, pleaded guilty to assaulting another by beating in Salisbury on November 30, 2021. She was fined £120 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34.

NICKY HAWTHORN, aged 48, of Eyres Road, Amesbury, pleaded guilty to driving while exceeding the legal alcohol limit. On November 21, 2021, Hawthorn was recorded driving a Mini One along Ashley Road in Salisbury with 163 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. She was fined £250 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85. She was banned from driving for 18 months.

RUPON MIAH, aged 45, of Barnard Street, Salisbury, indicated a plea of guilty to stealing a black gilet from Blacks Outdoors on March 4, 2022. On the same day he was found with a flick/lock knife. On March 19 Miah stole £191 worth of clothing from Marks and Spencer. Miah was fined £40 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £95. He must attend activities and appointments as instructed by an officer.
