A NEW three-decade lease has been signed to secure Tidworth Town Football Club’s pitches and open the space to more people.

This week Tidworth Town Council and the football club have signed an historic lease of 30 years that secures its future at the club’s Humber Lane pitches.

The length of the lease will also allow the football club to access grant funding to provide a club house.

The town council will provide over £75,000 seed funding to help the club house project proceed.

Tidworth’s Mayor, Cllr Mark Connolly said: “I am very pleased that we have secured the future of the town’s football club by providing it with a permanent home.

“Over 200 boys and girls play for the club at all ages, so we are also pleased to have provided a home for the town’s youth football.”

He added: “The lease does allow the football club to hire pitches to other local clubs where possible as the council is keen that the site is utilised by other clubs and organisations.”
