A BASINGSTOKE street from has been captured in a new collection of mural wallpapers celebrating famous landmarks and classic vintage scenes from around Hampshire.

The new collection from Feathr, entitled “Vintage Hampshire” has been created by adapting vintage photography from the archive of the Hampshire Cultural Trust.

Church Street is one of the seven locations captured from around Hampshire, dating from the 19th century through to the early 20th century.

A classic Victorian street scene is recalled in the Church Street mural wallpaper, several horses and carts are proceeding along the street, passing by a general store and St Michael’s Church, which survives to this day.

Tom Puukko, founder of Feathr, said: “I was born in Southampton and spent my whole childhood there, so the local landmarks have a real resonance for me. It’s a delight to see these vintage photographs of the Hampshire come to life at such a large scale. Each of the murals captures a moment and mood so well.”

The collection also includes Mill Hill Botley, which features a cyclist as she passes through the bucolic streets of Victorian Botley, along with iconic vintage views of Southampton’s Bargate, Winchester Westgate and Winchester Cathedral.

The oldest image in the Hampshire Vintage wall mural collection is based on an engraving of Portsmouth Docks, believed to have originally been created in 1841.

The Hampshire Vintage collection is available exclusively from Feathr. Each wall mural is made to order and can be customised to any wall size at no extra cost.
