THE Fabulous Family Fun Day has raised more than £20,000 - the most ever raised for Salisbury Hospice.

The event, which celebrated its eighth year, is held every year in memory of Lyn Futcher who died from breast cancer.

Raising money for Salisbury Hospice Charity, the family fun day returned with a bang on Saturday, May 14, at Salisbury Rugby Club with live music, children’s entertainment, a beer festival, Pimms and Prosecco bars as well as football and touch rugby tournaments.

Organiser Greig Futcher said: "I am truly astounded by this fantastic total and the number of people who so kindly attended on the day. It was a great day, we were truly blessed by the weather. I think you might even be able to say it was a “Fantastic” Family Fun Day.

"A huge thank you must go to my fellow committee members (friends), without whom this wouldn’t be possible. Thanks also goes to Salisbury Rugby Club, our team of dedicated volunteers, performers, sponsors, exhibitors and all who made this day such a resounding success. Not forgetting, of course, our generous headline sponsor Hendy Group.

"We are delighted to announce the Fabulous Family Fun Day will be returning on Saturday, May 13, 2023 and next year we will be focusing on how to make the event even better. Watch this space."

The day exceeded all expectations with record attendance and raised a total of £20,186.82.
